About Lori

Lori discovered photography around age ten, spending many happy hours in the darkroom under the tutelage of her father, a biochemist.

She returned to serious picture-making after a nearly 30-year hiatus and found a new sense of expression in color photography, much of which reflected her deep interest in the natural world. More recently, she has found still more satisfaction in connecting with people by making their portraits and pursuing documentary photography. Still a purist, she prints her own work in limited series.

Lori holds a BFA in Creative Writing and Film from Emerson College, as well as a graduate certificate in Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University. She has dropped cameras on three continents, and has a modest goal of not dropping cameras on at least two more.
